2015 Emerge Open Winter Workshops

Newlands Community Centre, Wellington Dance the winter away with our Emerge Open Winter Workshops! This winter we're launching our new open winter workshops, held at the Newlands Community Centre. These are a great way to keep dancing throughout the holidays, try something new or supplement your current training. And they're open to everyone! Junior students have the opportunity to take jazz and lyrical ballet workshops. Intermediate level students can take jazz, lyrical contemporary and conditioning classes and senior students can develop their choreography skills, with choreography, contemporary and conditioning classes. Taught by experienced teacher and Dance Well Centre director Brie Jessen-Vaughan, these workshops are sure to warm up your winter. Take your dance to the next level with Emerge Winter Workshops. Workshop Descriptions
Junior Jazz (Age 7 - 10)
This workshop is perfect for students age 7 - 10 who love to dance. Students will take a 45 minute jazz class and a 45 minute lyrical ballet class each day. The class is beginner level, students with 0 - 3 years of dance who are 7 - 10 should take this workshop.
Tuesday 14th July - Thursday 16th July 1pm - 1.45pm Jazz
1.45pm - 2.30pm Lyrical Ballet
Cost: $65
Intermediate Dance (Age 11 - 14)
This workshop is ideal for students age 11 - 14 who want to build on their love of dance. Students will take a 45 minute jazz class, a 45 minute lyrical contemporary class and a 30 conditioning class each day. The class is beginner/intermediate level, suitable for students with 1 - 4 years of dance.

3.15pm - 3.45pm Conditioning
3.45pm - 4.30pm Lyrical/Contemporary

Senior Choreography (Age 13 - 16)
This workshop is a chance for you to take dance into your own hands. Designed with a focus on contemporary dance and choreography this workshop will help you build your skills in creating dance. Students will take a conditioning class, a choreography class and a contemporary class.
